The Pantheon a Tactical Card Game

The Pantheon is an ongoing creative project I’ve been developing for over three years. It began with my passion for worldbuilding, originally taking shape as a short story. That story has since been deprecated as I build a more formalized and expansive narrative—one that now serves as the foundation for a tactical card game.

Inspired by my love for games like Magic: The Gathering and tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and Iron Kingdoms, I set out to merge the strategic depth of trading card games with the persistent storytelling and tactical positioning of roleplaying games. The result is a system where players build decks and command units across a top-down battlefield in a post-collapse world.

The world of Pantheon is hollowed and broken. Set seven years after the catastrophic events of World War III, humanity is a shadow of its former self. Amid the global devastation, one woman stepped forward—Dr. Evelyn Wright, a biologically grown and genetically modified soldier who had fought in the war. Witnessing the collapse of nature, history, and society, she founded an organization called Pantheon.

Much like a more extreme version of the real-world seed vault in Norway, Pantheon’s purpose is preservation: stockpiling DNA, seeds, data, and infrastructure to ensure that humanity might have a second chance, should the world fall again. But survival is never simple.

Anomalies began appearing—first detected by satellites in the frozen desolation of the South Pole. They blocked communications. Stirred panic. Cities went dark. And eventually, these anomalies arrived at Pantheon’s gates. Now, the battlefield is yours. You must choose: Will you help Pantheon endure? Or join those who seek to erase its legacy and reshape the world anew?
